| The Cataplana Experience Competition! |
The main aim of the regional Cataplana Experience competition for restaurants is to promote the cataplana as a culinary utensil to be used for both cooking dishes and serving them. It is intended that this will also help draw attention to the Algarve's regional products, its culture and culinary traditions, and act as a stimulus for creativity.
The O Marinheiro Restuarant was awarded a "Bronze Cataplana" by the Cataplana Experience jury constituted of well known chefs
Orlando Esteves, Helmut Ziebell, Nuno Diniz e José Cordeiro.

Cataplana Experience - The second edition of the Cataplana Experience brings show cooking to Vilamoura Marina in September. Vitor Sobral, José Avillez, Henrique Sá Pessoa and Luís Baena, some of the top chefs currently working in Portugal, will also be demonstrating some new ways of using the cataplana.
